woo hoo! Isaac's new bed arrived at the Sears depot in town yesterday. I went to pick it up with the van, but the woman wouldn't let me take it, telling me to "get some help, go get a strong man" She was really quite a cow about it. roll eyes. Anyhow, loaded the girls into the van, took Isaac's car seat out of the back and flattened it out, Rob and Isaac took the Camry and we all went and got it. Yes, the bed was heavy, but we got it in the van. The mattress was super light, and so was the headboard. I so could have done it myself...ok, maybe with a bit of help.
Got home, got it all in the house. Moved the other bed out, and got ready to set the new one up! I had to move all the furniture around in Norah's room to make room for Isaac's old bed. It took forever to find the screwdriver piece to set the ends of the bed up too. But it's all in there now...if more than a little crowded with furniture. Norah's room will be better when we take the big green armchair out, but right now, we really need it there. It just seemed to make sense to keep the Ikea bed upstairs instead of trying to lug it downstairs.
Isaac's new bed went together really well. It looks great, and he seems really pleased with it. We still have to do the headboard, but Rob says he'll do it during the hockey game tonight. (Go Canucks Go) It's hard to believe my little guy is old enough for a real bed....
We have the church's AGM tomorrow, with a potluck lunch. I'm really excited to use the potluck dish MIL bought me for Christmas. It's a pyrex dish, with a cover, carrying case and a heating pad thingy for transporting. Honestly, it's the most exciting gift she's ever bought me!
Michelle and the girls were over this morning. I wouldn't be shocked if she has the baby in the next 48 hours. Wow, her girls really make my kids look easy to handle. Jordan is really pushy and Jacey is agressive. Michelle is very laid back with them, I'm assigning positive intent that she's just too pregnant to do much else...but I'm not totally convinced. So, I found myself jumping in quite a bit to handle things as they came up. I did a lot of redirecting and coaching of the kids. That's ok though, kept Norah from getting bitten at one point. Hope she didn't mind, but my house, my kids stay safe!
My one complaint about my new friend Michelle - she doesn't drink coffee. I will have to fix that....(insert evil laugh here)
